It had been Chris’s dream to work for Samsung when he joined the prestigious company in early 2020. During the COVID pandemic, Chris created YouTube videos in his spare time. In the videos, he analyzed current events with an evangelical eschatological lens, and he warned against repression through political correctness. Ironically, Samsung’s response to his videos, having been alerted to them by Chris’s online detractors, was to terminate him “for cause”—allegedly for violating Samsung’s social media policy.
Now, Mauck & Baker represents Chris in his federal lawsuit for religious discrimination. We have tenaciously pressed Samsung to turn over documents showing its motivation for terminating Chris. Mauck & Baker’s efforts have borne some fruit already: newly disclosed documents revealed that when Samsung first became aware of Chris’s videos, it hired a PR firm to surveil Chris’s online content output for over a year before his termination, possibly trying to find any evidence Chris had violated Samsung’s social media policy. Now as the lawsuit proceeds to depositions of parties and witnesses, Mauck & Baker is committed to continue bringing the truth to light. Please pray for Chris’s social media ministry, that God use it to bring souls to Himself, and please pray for us as we fight for Chris’s rights.
