Mary Dillon joins Mauck & Baker as an ADF Blackstone intern after completing her first year at Notre Dame Law School. At Notre Dame, the faith-filled community and a course on Freedom of Religion inspired Mary to pursue religious liberty and integrate her faith into her legal vocation. She is actively involved in the Federalist Society and the St. Thomas More Society.
Before law school, Mary earned her degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, where she was a member of the UChicago Catholic Students Association, Women in Law, and her sorority. After graduating, she worked for over two years as a litigation paralegal at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. She volunteers with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, where she previously ran a clothing room, and served on the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Queen’s Court this year.
On the Queen’s Court, she serves as an ambassador of Irish culture and community spirit throughout Chicago. This year, she took part in over 50 events citywide, including beloved Chicago traditions like marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the iconic river dyeing. She also supports charitable efforts—partnering with organizations like the Special Olympics and Misericordia, raising money for local children’s hospitals, and visiting schools to share Irish heritage with young students.
Outside the law, Mary is active in the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago, enjoys Pilates and playing basketball, and loves spending time with her family.
